Outer Banks AttractionsWe welcome you to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where the Ocean meets the Sound and the Carolina Blue Sky. There are so many wonderful Places to Visit While you are here. The Lost Colony on Roanoke Island where each summer the longest running Outdoor Drama re-enacts the Fist Colonists in the New Land, and marks the birthplace of Virginia Dare. There are 4 Lighthouses (all in a day's drive) … some of which you can Climb to the Top and walk on the Platform where you can take in the most incredible Ocean & Sound Views.

There is the Wright Brother’s Memorial which commemorates the First Flight of Orville and Wilbur Wright. Although located in the now Town of Kill Devil Hills, the then location was Kitty Hawk. During summer enjoy the U.S. Park Service Live Narration of the history of that First Flight.

Sunsets can be magnificent … especially during the Fall. If you are an early riser, there is nothing more incredible than to witness the Sunrise over the Ocean. It is a time of day that will almost guarantee the beach to yourself!

I relocated here from Rockville, Maryland During 1985. My Sister moved here before I could get my house sold, and my Mom made the move shortly thereafter. My Dad and Step-Mom led the way moving here in the late 70’s when there were literally no grocery stores – just Wink’s in Kitty Hawk to buy groceries.

I began my Career in Real Estate with Long & Foster in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In 1985, when I transitioned into Real Estate Here on the Outer Banks there was no MLS! I remember prospective clients coming into my Office asking about a property for sale about which I had absolutely no information! To find out details, I had to drive to the property to see who’s sign was on it, then either drive to their office or back to mine to call them for the information, and then somehow get the single page typed description of the property which had been photocopied many times and would likely not include a photo. Keep in mind that I had left a computerized MLS in Maryland! I thought I had stepped back in time.
A few years ago I was part of the committee who selected our current MLS Vendor – what a difference!
